Teaching Experience & Training
Simon D’Aquino is an experienced and passionate musician with 10 years of experience teaching and working with students of all ages and skill levels from his studio and throughout Melbourne’s secondary and tertiary institutions. He has graduated the AMEB grading system as a pianist and is a certified singing instructor with the Institute for Vocal Advancement receiving ongoing training and education from high level voice instructors based in Melbourne, Vancouver, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
Industry Performance Experience
Simon has a background is in solo concert performance, but developed a very diverse set of experience as a musician gigging and undertaking studio recordings in a number of bands across styles of rock, pop and jazz. Simon is an experienced accompanist and pianist working professionally throughout Melbourne’s music scene.
His career has seen him employed as musical director for over half a dozen musical theatre shows and as a pit musician for dozens more. He has also been involved in numerous cabaret and opera productions and in a variety of jazz & rock bands and ensembles. Recently touring nationally as keyboardist & back up vocalist for The Australian INXS Show, he’s played at some of the biggest venues all over the country. Simon currently accompanies and conducts for the Australian Youth Choir, works in top level corporate bands and accompanies at a variety of secondary and tertiary institutions. Simon is also a multi-instrumentalists singing, drumming, playing percussion and trumpet with a variety of groups.
